"Peanut Pitcher"
ANNCR: Old Style, Chicago’s beer, is proud to present: Great Moments in Cubs Fan History.
SFX:HORN STINGER.
ANNCR:At 2:30pm on June 26th, 1991 Paul Bloss was selling peanuts at Wrigley.
PAUL: It’s a great job; I get to see every Cubs home game.
ANNCR: Then one of the other peanut sellers called in sick.
PAUL: I had to cover twice my normal territory, but I could handle it.
ANNCR: One fan would put him to the test.
FAN: I really wanted some peanuts to go with my Old Style, but the peanut guy was pretty far away.
ANNCR: Paul wasn’t going to let the distance stop him from satisfying the cravings of a fellow Cubs fan.
PAUL:I did what any self-respecting peanut vendor would do… I threw him a bag.
ANNCR: He threw it pretty hard.
MAN:OUCH!
FAN: It hit this Cardinals fan in the back of the head and rebounded into my lap.
ANNCR: On that fateful day, Paul Bloss became one man’s personal hero.
FAN: I thought I was going to have to wait twenty minutes to get my peanuts, but that peanut pitcher saw I was in need and threw a perfect strike--sort of.
ANNCR: Making a dangerous throw to keep a Cubs fan happy. Now that’s Old Style.
